LARGE ITEM COLLECTION
Do not set mattresses, furniture, and unbagged
materials out with regular collection. Bulky items, extra
trash or materials outside of the cart, and items larger
than 40 lbs. and/or 2' x 3, and electronics (anything
with a cord) need a Large Item Collection appointment.
Pricing
Landfilled material
Example: Extra trash, furniture, or other large items.
Equivalent of 10-12 kitchen trash bags (or about the size
of an average couch) - $13 per load
Recyclable materials
Appliances - $20 each
TVs, laptops, and monitors - $20 each
Automobile tires - $6 each
Small electronics (VCRs, DVD players, keyboards, cables,
chargers, speakers, etc.) - $5 per pickup

FOOD SCRAPS/YARD WASTE
Dubuque offers curbside collection of yard waste and
food scraps for composting. Keeping this material out of
the landfill is extremely beneficial.

2. Annual decal (for a personal 35-gal can) - $40
3. Single -use yellow stickers - $1.50 each
(sold at City Hall and same retailers as green stickers)

The City's curbside recycling program is the easiest way to divert
materials from the landfill. Clean and dry plastic, metal, paper,
cardboard, newspapers, and more are accepted.

super recyclers who recycle more than the amount
of the standard yellow bin. To request a blue tipper

Recycle glass in the purple bins located at several locations in the Dubuque area.
