Background The workplan is a requirement for maintaining the City of Dubuque's Certified Local Government (CLG) status. The workplan helps guide the Commission's work, and it defines priorities as we write grants to do the work required as a CLG. At the HPC's recent February 15, 2024 meeting, a revision of the workplan was suggested, reviewed and recommended for City Council approval. Under the category of Survey & Registration Projects, and under the subcategory of Under -represented People, it was suggested that the Commission explore the feasibility of adding to its survey work through the continuation of exploring lesser researched Dubuque populations and cultures that influenced our history and the development of our neighborhoods, such as the Jewish, Greek, Hispanic and Marshallese communities. Staff revised the enclosed HPC Workplan for CY 2024 to include this modification. Recommendation The Historic Preservation Commission recommends that the City Council review and approve the revised enclosed CY 2024 Workplan.
