Re: FCC Intergovernmental Advisory Committee — 2024-2026 Term
Dear Ms. Farber:
I am pleased to inform you of your selection to serve on the Intergovernmental Advisory
Committee (IAC) of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission), for a term
beginning on March 13, 2024, and ending on March 13, 2026. The FCC is committed to serving
state, county, local and Tribal interests by actively soliciting their input in our regulatory
processes, and vigilantly assessing the impact our decisions might have on their respective
governments. The IAC serves as a valuable source of information and guidance to the
Commission on a broad range of telecommunications issues of concern to state, county, local and
Tribal governments.
The IAC shall meet approximately four (4) times a year. Members are required to attend
at least half of the IAC's full -committee meetings. At this time, the Commission will provide
members with the option to attend meetings either in -person or virtually. While members are
encouraged to join in -person at the FCC's Headquarters in Washington, D.C., please be advised
that the Commission is unable to reimburse travel expenses or per diem allowances.
In addition to quarterly meetings, you may be called upon to participate in conference
calls and to undertake some IAC-related follow-up activities between the quarterly
meetings. These meetings and activities are typically associated with the working groups to
which members will be assigned.
A Public Notice will also be released announcing the IAC's membership, leadership and
first meeting date.
Thank you for your willingness to assist the FCC in this important endeavor. Please
notify us whether you accept or decline by sending an email to Theodore.Marcus(a)fcc.2ov
no later than Wednesday, February 21, 2024.
