Library Board of Trustees Update
From the Meeting January 25, 2024
Present: Victor Lieberman, President; Alanda Gregory, Vice -President; and Trustees,
Greg Gorton, Christy Monk, and Pam Mullin
• The Board approved library expenditures.
• The Board approved revisions to the Library's Personnel Handbook to better
reflect the practices in place from updates to the City of Dubuque employee
handbook.
• The Board of Trustees received an update regarding the work session provided to
City Council discussing the space needs assessment.
• The Board of Trustees received an overview of library staff's accomplishments
regarding the 2023 annual workplan related to the 2023-2028 Strategic Plan and
were presented with a draft of 2024 workplan
• The library is partnering with Convivium Urban Farmstead and the Mowing to
Monarchs program, while launching a seed library. Seeds should be available for
patrons in the middle of February.
• The library will be adding new self -check machines, which will come with a
smart phone app that will allow patrons the ability for a mobile check out. More
details to come as the hardware and software are completed.
