Carnegie -Stout Public Library
Library Board of Trustees Update
From the Meeting March 28, 2024
Present: Victor Lieberman, President; Alanda Gregory, Vice -President; and Trustees,
Robert Armstrong, Christy Monk, and Pam Mullin
• The Board approved library expenditures.
• The touch table, provided on behalf of funding from the McDonough Foundation
and the Carnegie -Stout Public Library Foundation has arrived in the Youth
Department and is getting a lot of usage.
• Carnegie -Stout Public Library representatives attended a bi-annual meeting
required for the 28E agreement between the Carnegie -Stout Public Library, James
Kennedy Public Library in Dyersville, Cascade Public Library, and the Dubuque
County Library District to contract library services with County municipalities
that do not currently have a library in their community. The member agencies saw
an increase in usage to contracting cities, we believe due to a concentrated effort
to promote the service and will continue in those engagement efforts.
• The addition of the Seed Library has been well received. Hundreds of packets of
seeds have been distributed to community members.
• With the success of the Seed Library, we are also adding some handheld garden
tools to help promote home gardening. Items such as PH soil monitors, drill bit
soil augers, hand held seed spreaders and more will be available for check out
soon.
• Also getting added to the collection will be an assortment of vinyl records.
• Library Director, Nick Rossman and Adult Services Manager, Amy Muchmore
attended the Public Library Association Conference in Columbus, Ohio.
