Library Board of Trustees Update
From the Meeting April 25, 2024
Present: Victor Lieberman, President; Alanda Gregory, Vice -President; Andy Bland,
Secretary; and Trustees, Robert Armstrong and Pam Mullin
• The Board approved library expenditures.
• The Library saw a nice turnout for several community programs including but not
limited to:
o The opening reception for the April/May Art @ your Library exhibit had
more than 300 attendees
o A collaborative program with the Telegraph Herald brought over 100
people attend to meet and listen to columnist Kurt Ullrich.
• Library staff were able to promote library services and literacy at several
community events including but not limited to:
o Winter Farmer's Market
o Multicultural Family Center's Celebrate Africa and the Diaspora event
o Dubuque Area Family STEM Festival
o National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium's Party for the Planet
event
o Quarterly Dubuque County Mayor's Meeting hosted by ECIA
• The library is hosting a map created by students from the Alta Vista Campus, in
which students visited several City of Dubuque Parks, and created a map of the
City, with park locations detailed, using wood and wood cutting tools at Alta
Vista's Adult Learning Center. The map will be on display on the second floor of
the library until June 7.
