Government Body: CITY OF DUBUQUE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION

Place of Meeting: City Hall — Conference Room C — 50 W 13t" St.
Present: Commissioners Carla Heathcote (virtually), Scott Crabill
Also present: Police Captain Scott Baxter, Fire Chief Amy Scheller
Commissioner Crabill called the meeting to order at 4:18 p.m.
1. Approval of minutes from the March 7, 2024 meeting. Motion by Heathcote to approve the minutes
as submitted. Seconded by Crabill. Motion carried 2-0.
2. Police and Fire Department Reports. Fire Chief Amy Scheller provided information on new hires
and completion of the budget presentation for the Fire Dept. Police Captain Baxter provided
information on staffing/training numbers and status on the redesigned squad car.
3. Add candidate name to the certified list for the position of Police Officer. Motion by Heathcote to
add qualified candidate to the exiting certified list for the position of Police Officer. Seconded by
Crabill. Motion carried 2-0.
4. Schedule an entrance examination for the position of Police Officer. Motion by Heathcote to set
the date for the written test on Saturday, May 11, 2024. Seconded by Crabill. Commissioner
Crabill to proctor. Motion carried 2-0.
4. Adjournment. Motion by Heathcote to adjourn at 4:32 p.m. Seconded by Crabill. Motion
carried 2-0.
