SUBJECT: Transition Timeline and Request for Work Session for New City Council
Agenda Management Software Demonstration
The City will transition the digital management of City Council agendas from Granicus's
NovusAGENDA (Novus) to CivicPlus's Agenda and Meeting Management Select (Select)
software, beginning with the October 7, 2024, City Council meeting. City staff will receive
training on the software in September and will have the opportunity to practice in the
system prior to go -live.
Novus will remain active until Select is fully operational for the October City Council
meetings. Afterward, city staff will contact Granicus to terminate Novus. Once the city
gives Granicus the required 30-day notice for contract termination, Granicus will credit
the city for the prorated remainder of the contract, which is through February of 2025. All
City Council agenda documents are accessible to City staff and the public via Laserfiche.
Therefore, no documents will be migrated from Novus.
The transition will be communicated to the public via a press release, the City's social
media channels, and the City News newsletter. Resources for Select will be published on
the City's website to assist the public in learning the new platform.
Additionally, conducting a work session would educate both the public and City Council
on the new software. I respectfully request City Council schedule a work session on
September 16, 2024, at 6:00 p.m. for a demonstration of the new agenda management
software.
