Library Board of Trustees Update
From the Meeting June 27, 2024
Present: Victor Lieberman, President; Andy Bland, Secretary; and Trustees, Robert
Armstrong, Christy Monk, and Pam Mullin
• The Board approved library expenditures.
• The Board approved a one-year contract extension for part-time Marketing
Coordinator to be paid from the Mutschler Trust through June 2025.
• The Board of Trustees approved the Dubuque Museum of Art to send a high -
resolution image of Grant Wood's "Appraisal" to an Italian book publisher for an
Italian printing of the 1948 novel "The Road Through the Wall" by Shirley
Jackson.
• The Board celebrated the final meeting of 2-term Trustee Robert Armstrong.
Robert started on the Board of Trustees in 2016. Thank you, Robert, for your
years of service and commitment to the Carnegie -Stout Public Library!
• Library staff supported the community by providing library resources and
information at the Dubuque Farmer's Market and the Multicultural Family
Center's Pride fest on June 1.
• There was great attendance for the ribbon cutting of Gail Chavenelle's sculpture
"Citizens". A special thanks to Mayor Pro Tem Ric Jones and Board of Trustees
Vice President Alanda Gregory for speaking at the event.
• The Summer Reading Program got off to a great start and is making the summer
fly by.
• The Maker Space has added a large format vinyl printer and cutter. The machine
is able to print full color images on various materials and cut the print as well.
Community members will be able to make vinyl stickers, decals, canvas prints,
window clings and more!
