INTRODUCTION:
The purpose of this memorandum is to request a work session with the Dubuque City
Council to provide an update on the Automated License Plate Readers (ALPR).
BACKGROUND:
On September 20, 2024, all 22 Automated License Plate Reader (ALPR) went live.
am requesting a work session to provide an update on the Automated License Plate
Reader (ALPR) system. The presentation will include the following key elements:
Demonstration of the Transparency Portal
We will showcase the transparency portal that allows the public to access information
on the ALPR system, ensuring accountability and transparency.
Up -to -Date Data
The council will be presented with the most current data generated by the ALPR
system, giving insight into system usage, trends, and statistics.
Recent Uses of the ALPR System
We will highlight recent cases or instances where the ALPR system was instrumental in
assisting law enforcement, providing context for its application and impact.
