This project provides for the installation of approximately 300 feet of 8-inch diameter sewer along Broadway Street, from Putnam Street to W. 28th Street. On multiple occasions, the existing sewer system has surcharged so that wastewater has back flowed into basements. The sewer is proposed to be redirected so that flows are conveyed with a greater capacity to mitigate the recurring backups. During design, staff identified several deficiencies with the roadway, sidewalk, curb and gutter, which will also be addressed within the project limits. DISCUSSION This project provides for the installation of approximately 300 feet of 8-inch diameter sewer along Broadway Street, from Putnam Street to W. 28th Street. On multiple occasions, the existing sewer system has surcharged so that wastewater has back flowed into basements. The sewer is proposed to be redirected so that flows are conveyed with a greater capacity to mitigate the recurring backups. During design, staff identified several deficiencies with the roadway, sidewalk, curb and gutter, which will also be addressed within the project limits.
