INTRODUCTION
This memorandum provides a status update on the Dubuque Brewing and Malting project
at 3000 Jackson Street.
BACKGROUND
The demolition of 3000 Jackson was required due to structural issues that posed a
significant risk to public safety. The City of Dubuque served the owner notice to remove
the structure and work commenced at the end of April.
DISCUSSION
3000 Jackson Street demolition has been completed with a significant portion of the
brick & stone salvaged. 30th Street has been reopened to traffic. The site has been
cleared of all debris. The two basements were excavated, with any slabs broken up
into 12" or smaller pieces and then backfilled and covered with limestone. There is
construction fencing remaining on site, awaiting permanent fencing to be installed. The
remaining work to be completed is repair or replacement of the sidewalks that were
damaged during demolition. The green spaces will be stripped to remove any remaining
debris, then topsoil added and re -seeded.
