Library Board of Trustees Update
From the Meeting March 27, 2025
Present: Victor Lieberman, President; A. Alanda Gregory, Vice President; Andy Bland,
Secretary; and Trustees, Diann Guns, Christy Monk, and Pam Mullin
• The Board approved library expenditures.
• The Board approved closing the Library on Monday, October 13 for professional
development training for staff.
• The Board approved the Fiscal Year 2026 budget request and presentation.
• The Board of Trustees reviewed preliminary budget estimates for potential Phase
One renovation modifications to the library and directed the Library Director to
keep moving forward and identify priority projects with plans to use Mutschler
Trust funds to help cover costs.
• Art @ your Library has returned for April/May 2025. The Arboretum Artists are a
group of open-air painters that meet regularly at the Dubuque Arboretum and
Botanical Gardens. The works of Kim Daykin, Rose Ann Derks, Donna Gibson,
JoAnn Hackbarth, Ellen Henkels, Alda Kaufinan, Sharon Krapfl, Sue Lemon, and
Rita Persian will be on display through May 24.
• The Board of Trustees reviewed the Library's Confidentiality Policy and have
requested modifications to provide more information to library users regarding
how their data is used, stored, etc.
• The Board of Trustees brainstormed ideas for submission into the Community
Foundation of Dubuque's Envision 2030 program.
