Proclamation Page 28 of 326 THE 17 N v oUB E Alasterpiece on the Mississippi WHEREAS, the City of Dubuque has fostered a culture that encourages residents to establish neighborhood associations, fostering a sense of neighborhood pride with homeowners, landlords, and tenants taking responsibility for appearance and safety; and WHEREAS, neighborhood associations are organized and led by residents who volunteer their time, talent and treasure to make Dubuque a better place to live, work and play; and WHEREAS, neighborhood associations represent a collective of dedicated residents living in close proximity who share a desire to create a neighborhood identity and encourage engagement among neighbors and those dedicated to their neighborhood; and WHEREAS, the establishment of neighborhood associations provides a remarkable avenue for residents to connect with one another, leverage city grant funding and resources to enhance neighborhood amenities, and serve as advocates for the well-being of their neighborhood. NOW THEREFORE, I, BRAD M. CAVANAGH, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF, AND RESIDENTS OF DUBUQUE, DO HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGE AND CELEBRATE THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF ALL NEIGHBORHOOD ASSOCIATIONS TO THE BETTERMENT OF OUR NEIGHBORHOOD AND OVERALL COMMUNITY.
