Alanda Gregory, President; Andy Bland, Vice President; Diann Guns, Secretary; and Trustees, Jessica Connery, Victor Lieberman, Christy Monk, and Pam Mullin • The Board approved library expenditures. • The Board approved bid for Mini -Split Air Conditioner for 2nd floor Server Room • The Board approved to use funds in the Robert Mutschler Trust for future renovations for a phase one plan for library service improvements • The Board approved a contract amendment with FEH Design to continue design services for library renovations • IT Manager Mike Kerth demonstrated a preview of the library's new laptop and tablet checkout kiosk, which was built using 3D printers owned and operated by the library. These devices, if purchased by a third -party vendor would come with a price tag of approximately $40,000 and approximately $6,000 in annual maintenance and service agreements. The total cost for the unit to be built and designed by library staff was approximately $4,500. • The library distributed more than approximately 2,000 books as prizes to participants in the Summer Reading Program across all ages. Over 1,600 books went to students 12 and under. August saw the conclusion of another well participated Summer Reading Program, helping prevent boredom and the summer slide. • Library staff participated in numerous summer community gatherings including but not limited to the Dubuque County Fair, National Night Out, the Back -to - School Bash, and DBQFest, Statistical Highlights July Count Total Checkouts 47,367 Total Visitors 18,901 Total Program Attendance 4,455 Total Computer/Wi-Fi Use 12,063 Library Board of Trustees 4�� A. Alanda Gregory, Board President Andy Bland, Vice -President Diann Guns, Board Secretary Jessica Connery Victor Lieberman Christy Monk Pam Mullin Nick Rossman, Library Director Page 60 of 1264 PARK AND RECREATION COMMISSION MEETING Tuesday, August 12, 2025 Flora Park — Steel Open Air Pavilion (Blue Roof), 2605 Pennsylvania Ave. Dubuque, Iowa 52001 PRESENT: Jennifer Tigges, Robin Kennicker, Ron Axtell, Lori 011endick, and Josh Jorgenson ABSENT: Jason Henkel, Jess Ochoa STAFF PRESENT: Dan Kroger CALL TO ORDER: 011endick called meeting to order at 4:30pm. MINUTES APPROVED VOTE: It was moved by Kennicker, second by Axtell, to approve the minutes of the July 8, 2025, meeting. Unanimous. PUBLIC INPUT: None SOUTH POINTE SUBDIVISION PARK NAMING REVIEW AND RECOMMENDATION: Upon review of the park name submissions, the consensus amongst commission members was that there we no names, other than South Pointe Park, that had a direct connection to the subdivision nor park space. 011endick commented that the majority of the public tends to refer to/recognize these neighborhood parks by their location. The motion was made by Tigges to name the park South Pointe Park. This was second by Kennicker. Unanimous. COMPREHENSIVE MASTER PLAN UPDATE: Staff presented a brief update to the master plan process, highlighting that the online survey will end on Sunday, August 17'. Tigges asked staff if they would still have an opportunity to meet with the consultants as the previous meeting times were cancelled. Staff did let the commission know that the opportunity will be still be available prior to the end of the engagement process. COMMISSION COMMUNICATION / QUESTIONS: Axtell asked staff to check and update the park listing on the City's website to include the new neighborhood parks.
