Proclamation Page 10 of 750 THE N v or UB E Alasterpiece on the Mississippi WHEREAS, the Thanksgiving holiday is a cherished American tradition celebrating gratitude, togetherness, and the abundance of our shared blessings; and WHEREAS, the City of Dubuque proudly embodies the spirit of generosity, compassion, and community; and WHEREAS, our city has a tradition extending back over 60 years to provide joy, companionship, and a free meal for those who may otherwise spend the holiday alone; and WHEREAS, this enduring tradition is made possible by community volunteers, social service agencies, universities, foundations, faith -based organizations, donors, and local businesses who work together to continue this service to others; and WHEREAS, this year's event will continue that tradition, taking place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on November 27, 2025, at various host organization locations; and WHEREAS, no one in the City of Dubuque should be without companionship and a hot meal on our national holiday that celebrates family, gratitude, and human connection. NOW THEREFORE, I, BRAD M. CAVANAGH, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF, AND RESIDENTS OF DUBUQUE, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM THE 27TH OF NOVEMBER 2025 AS "FREE COMMUNITY THANKSGIVING DINNER DAY" IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA.
