PUBLIC COMMENT: NA New Business: • Airport Land Use —Julie Kraft, Wings2Water and John Yeomans and Tom Schutter, Farmers National a. Julie Kraft gave the commission a quick presentation about Wings2Water i. W2W uses the CID airport to communicate with travelers .about water quality ii. They also offer grants to the community 1. Some funded projects include water quality education, wetland restoration, and river clean ups b. John Yeomans and Tom Schutter gave a quick presentation about Farmers National i. farmers National has a contract with the CID airport —works in a consultant matter to manage the farmland around the airport Page 20 of 750 1. They make recommendations, but the airport commission makes the final decision 2. The farmland around the CID airport is 100% no till and they also require planting cover crops • Letter of Support — Dubuque Area Land & Water Legacy (DALAWL) request for Parks and Rec a. Kennicker makes a motion to approve, McDermott seconds i. 6 in favor, 0 opposed, 0 abstained • Sustainable Dubuque Grant Guidelines update a. Schmidt Boeke makes a motion to approve the edited version to City Council pending Legal team approval, Kennicker seconds b. 6 in favor, 0 opposed, 0 abstained Old Business: NA Commissioner Reports: How Did I Show Up? • Schmidt Boeke is back on the Catfish Creek Water Authority Commission • Lalith was able to see the Little Free Library he helped fund in Sri Lanka. He attended their opening ceremony and about 150 children came to grab a free book! Important Dates • Tentative Tree planting dates for the Branching Out Dubuque Initiative —Oct 4 and 11th Staff updates N/A Next meeting date: The next commission meeting will occur on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at 5pm at the Jule Operations and Training Center (JOTC) in the Circle Conference Room, 949 Kerper Blvd ADJOURNMENT: The Commission adjourned at 6:51 pm.
