WHEREAS, the service and sacrifice of soldiers and veterans are among the greatest contributions to
our nation, and the hardships many have endured deserve our deepest recognition and
continued commitment to justice and care; and
WHEREAS, Dubuque and the surrounding area have Veteran organizations for the Army,
Marines, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard; and
WHEREAS, appreciation for veterans from our community is welcome and deserved and should be
shown to them every day of the year.
NOW THEREFORE, I, BRAD M. CAVANAGH, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY COUNCIL, STAFF, AND RESIDENTS OF DUBUQUE, DO HEREBY
PROCLAIM THE MONTH OF DECEMBER 2025 AS
"VETERANS APPRECIATION MONTH"
IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA AND CALL UPON THE PEOPLE OF THE DUBUQUE AREA
TO RECOGNIZE OUR NATION'S MOST HEROIC MILITARY VETERANS EVERY DECEMBER.
IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand
and caused the Great Seal of the City of Dubuque to
be affixed this 151" day of December 2025.
