SUBJECT: New Ladder Truck- Static Display February 2, 2026 (5:30pm)
DATE: January 15, 2026
INTRODUCTION:
The Dubuque Fire Department recently took delivery of a new apparatus and requesting
an opportunity to provide a static display of the new resource at a city council meeting.
DISCUSSION:
The Dubuque Fire Department recently took delivery of a new apparatus: a 2025 E-One
Cyclone ladder truck. This vehicle is capable of pumping 2,000 gallons of water per
minute and features a 75-foot aerial ladder. The new truck will replace a 2001 or 2009
reserve ladder, to be determined by fleet and operations based upon scoring and
maintenance impact. It will be staffed with firefighter paramedics at fire station 4
(University Ave) as a front-line advanced life support response vehicle.
RECOMMENDATION:
The department is seeking approval to provide a static display of this new resource
before the Monday, February 2nd council meeting starting at 5:30 p.m. in front of the
Historic Federal Building on 6t" street. This will allow members of the community, city,
and council to tour the new vehicle and members to answer questions.
