The city attorney stated they were in proper legal form
The mayor delivered the oath of office to the officers elect
Mr James Agnew made a few remarks earnestly thanking the city council for the many courtesies extended to him
during his term of office and wishing the newly elected officers success
Attorney McCarthy reported in favor of allowing mrs Julia Flannery the sum of 11.50 for right of way through lots 17 amd 18
of summer hill addition he he presenting a deed for said right of way
Ald Hayden moved the recommendation of teh city attorney be adopted carried

side of 14th street from main to clay and for the grading curbing guttering and macadamizing of said 14th st bet

Ald parker offered the following resolution resolved by the city council of the city of Dubuque that the city marshall be
required to collect forthwith all unpaid licenses due the city Ald Parker moved the adoption of the resolution carried
Ald Meyer offered the following resolution Resolved by the city council of the city of Dubuque that a water way be
constructed on Division on Kniest Streets leading to couler creek that the city engineer be and is hereby instructed
to devise the best and cheapest means of constructing teh same and report to the council as soon as possible Ald
Meyer moved the resolution be referred to the street committee carried

Resolved by the city council of the city of Dubuque that a sideawlk ten 10 feet wide of new no two inch plank be constructed
and laid in conformity with the ordinance in relation to sidewalks on the north side of Julien Avenue in front of lots 40

reorganizing the police force of the city the entire force be discharged to take effect May 16th 1887 and that we now
proceed to the selection of policemen for the city of Dubuque said policemen to enter on their duties the 16th day of
May 1887
