Ald Trexler moved the rules be suspended and ex mayor Glab allowed to address the council carried
Mr Glab then addressed the council in relation to his special assessment on West Fifth street
Mr Zangmeister also addressed the council on the same subject
The report of the commissioners appointed to assess same damages on West Seventeenth street caused by the
proposed change of grade was opened and read as follows

Ald Hayden offered the following resolution which upon his motion was adopted
Be it resolved by the city council of the city of Dubuque that the finance committee be authorized to borrow a sufficient
amount of money to meet the current expenses of the month

Be it resolved by the city council of the city of Dubuque that the fire committee be authorized to purchase 1000
feet of good hose and two Callahan shut Off Nozzels and relief valves

ald Hayden offered the following resolution which upon his motion was adopted be it resolved by the city council
of the city of Dubuque that gasoline lamps be located 250 feet apart on seventh and commercial streets commencing
at Washington street out to the high bridge said lamps to be located under the direction of the committee on police
and gas and to be done at once also that the street committee be instructed to complete as speedily as possible
the street leading to the high bridge
Ald Trexler offered the following resolution which upon his motion was adopted resolved by the city council of the
city of Dubuque that the sidewalk ordered May 2 87 on 16th street from Pine to Maple streets be reconsidered
ald Trexler offered the following resolution which upon his motion was adopted Be it resolved by the city council
of the city of Dubuque that the street commissioner be and is hereby instructed to place stone crossings at the
north side of 16th and white streets south side of 16th and Washington streets
Ald Kenneally offered the following resolution which upon his motion was adopted Be it resolved by the city council
of the city of Dubuque that the city recorder be and is hereby ordered to issue a venier to the marshall directing him to
summon a jury of twelve freeholders to assess the damages to the abutting property holders by reason of the
opening of valley street as proposed and shown by the plat thereof now on file in the city engineers office
Ald doerfler moved to adjourn to meet next Monday at 2 pm carried

Ald Mulkern offered the following resolution which upon his motion was laid over until the next regular session and the
recorder instructed to notify abutting property holders to appear and show cause if any they have why said resolution
should not be adopted
Resolved by the city council of the city of Dubuque that to pay for curbing guttering and macadamizing Lake Street
from M and N W Railroad track to Couler Avenue by city of Dubuque Contractor in front of and adjoining the same
a special tax be and is hereby levied on teh several lots and parts of lots and parcels of real estate hereinafter named
situate and owned and for the several amounts set opposite each lot or parcel of real estate as follows

macadamizing Thirteenth Street from Washington Street to the M and N W R R Track by the city of Dubuque contractor
in front of and adjoining the same a special tax be and is hereby levied on the several lots and parts of lots and parcels
