Van Milligen, City Manager FROM: Arielle Swift, Public Works Director Luke Roth, Assistant Field Operations Manager SUBJECT: Asphalt Profile Milling Recommendation to Request Bids DATE: March 17, 2026 INTRODUCTION The purpose of this memorandum is to provide a recommendation for asphalt profile milling for calendar year 2026 (CY2026). DISCUSSION Each calendar year, the Public Works Department puts together a recommendation for the asphalt overlay program. Pending final budget approval, the department is recommending moving forward with requesting bids for asphalt profile milling services. Street Maintenance / Rehabilitation programs have been identified as a 2025-2027 City Council top priority. BUDGET IMPACT Funding for this project will come from the Public Works Department capital budget for asphalt milling services [5421000003-301-67990]. This budget also crosses fiscal years (FY) and may require pre-encumbering FY2027 budget within a contract. ACTION STEP The purpose of this memorandum is to request approval to request bids for asphalt profile milling for CY2026.
