RE: Request to Continue Fire Cost Recovery Ordinance to July Meeting
INTRODUCTION
A proposed fire cost r�covery ordinance appeared on the Council's agenda for its May 18, 2026 meeting.
Council Members raised several questions and concems about xhe ardinance and how it wauld 6e
implemented, and directed staff to address those issues and retum with a revised version for t�e Council's
consideration. Staff have rr�ade significant progress on the revisions, but a fe�v points still require further
consultation with the vendor, in part because the vendor agreement must align with the ordinance.
REQUESTED ACTION
Accordingly, staff respec�fully requests thax the fire cost recovery ordinance be removed from the June 15`''
agenda and placed on the agenc�a for a Council meeting in July.
