Comments Please consider the improvement of Eagle Point
Park. Its really sad to see it in such disrepair. Its
our citys diamond and i hatecthat its left to get so

My name is Jordan Lattner. I currently live in Cedar Rapids, Iowa but I grew up in Dubuque
and worked for the park department. I am here to thank those in a thankless job. What the
park department does with what they have is admirable. Here in Cedar Rapids we do not
have a city greenhouse and you can tell. The flowers and plants around the city are
beautiful. Have they changed over the years? Yeah. And that is a good thing. I am happy to
see Eagle Point Park returning to "its roots" of an oak Prairie and native plants. It concerns
me when I see on Facebook, people without the knowledge of the park staff pulling flowers
out of beds and pruning trees without city or park approval or education. We need to
understand that not every park needs marigolds and petunias. Thank you for your service
and listening.
