UPDATE ON
BUNKER HILL
SNACK BAR
RENOVATION:
Leisure Services Manager Gil Spence updated commissioners on the status of
the snack bar renovation: - we are close to being done -- hope to be able to at
least sit in the room by Friday or Saturday even if food can't be sold yet; · four
of the five doors are done; · plumber should be coming Wednesday to do sinks
and finish plumbing work; o counter top should be in Wednesday; · carpet will
be laid Thursday; · no exhaust fan yet and the wrong beer tapper was sent with
the equipment; · a lot of items were not ordered, so we have to wait for them to
get here; · many of the subcontractors are owed money, but we are not
responsible for any amounts owed before we took over.
Commissioner Duggan said people are asking him why we hired this company,
why not someone local? Mr. Spence said state law requires us to go with Iow
bidder unless we have a good reason. If a company can get bonded, they
should be reputable, and we checked references.
Commissioner Sullivan asked if we had any parties, et cetera scheduled that
would be canceled because the room was not done; Mr. Spence said
everything should be ready when the big events are scheduled.
