Assistant Fire Marshal Test Results
Chairperson Kluesner referred to the communication from Fire Chief Dan
Brown in which it was stated that he was not making a recommendation as
to the passing point for the Assistant Fire Marshal test. Chief Brown
explained that because there were only two applicants and the test numbers
identifying the candidates run in sequence, there was the potential for
knowing which candidate scored 69 and which scored 59 on the test. He
stated the options for the Commission were: (1) fail both candidates; (2)
accept the recommendation of McCann Associates; or (3) pass both
candidates.
Motion by Duehr to accept the recommendation of McCann Associates,
Inc., which was a passing standard of 69, which would pass only the
highest scoring candidate. Seconded by Wertzberger, passed unanimously.
Motion by Duehr to certify the list as read, which consisted of Jeff Zasada.
Seconded by Wertzberger, passed unanimously.
Request to Schedule an Entrance Examination for the Position of Equipment
Mechanic
Commissioner Duehr moved that we hold the test for Equipment Mechanic
as an entrance examination and that the eligibility list be good for two
years. He further moved that the application deadline be 5:00 p.m., June
13, 2001 and the test be held on June 26, 2001 at 6:30 p.m. in the Five
Flags Ballroom. Seconded by Wertzberger, passed unanimously.
Establish Passing Point for the Position of Clerk Typist and Certify List
Commission Wertzberger moved to accept the recommendation of Police
Chief Kim Wadding and Personnel Manager Randy Peck, and that the
passing point be established at 61 (70.7%). Seconded by Duehr, passed
unanimously. The passing scores were opened and read, and Duehr moved
that the list be certified as read. Seconded by Kluesner, passed
unanimously.
