RESOLUTION No. 189-70
WHEREAS, on the 29th day of
June, 1970, the City Council of the
City of Dubuque, Iowa and the
Board of Supervisors of Dubuque
County, Iowa caused to be prepared
and filed Articles of Incorporation
creating COUNTY-CITY OF DUBU-
QUE AUTHORITY and pursuant
thereto, three Commissioners were
appointed to said body in accord-
ance with the statute, and
WHEREAS, the term of office of
that Commissioner to be appointed
by the joint action of the City
Council of the City of Duhuque,
Iowa and the Board of Supervisors
of Dubuque County, Iowa has ex-
pired and a Commissioner should
be appointed for the ensuing term,
and
WHEREAS, the City Council of
the City of Dubuque, Iowa and the
Board of Supervisors of Dubuque
County, Iowa have met in joint
session and have agreed that Ray-
mond Goedken be appointed as the
third Commissioner to said Au-
thority, said Commissioner to be
appointed by the joint action of
the City Council and Board of Su-
pervisors.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RE-
SOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE,
IOWA:
Section 1. That the appointment
of Raymond Goedken as Commis-
sioner to be appointed by the joint

action of the City Council of the
City of Dubuque, Iowa and Board
of Supervisors of Dubuque County,
Iowa in accordance with the law
and the provisions of the Articles
of Incorporation of COUNTY-CITY
OF DUBUQUE AUTHORITY and
that said appointment of Raymond
Goedken as such Commissioner be
and the same is hereby ratified,
approved and confirmed for the
term commencing on the 27th day
of April 1970 and terminating on
the 26th day of April 1976.
Section 2. That the City Clerk
be and he is hereby authorized and
directed to transmit a certified
copy of this Resolution to the
Board of Supervisors of Dubuque
County, Iowa and in addition there-
to, to cause a certified copy of
same to be filed in the office of
the Recorder in and for Dubuque
County, Iowa and that the said
Clerk transmit a certified copy
hereof to the Secretary of said
COUNTY-CITY OF DUBUQUE AU-
THORITY.
Section3. That inability to ap-
point said Commissioner within
sixty (60) days from the expiration
of saJd term was not due to any
disagreement or inability to agree
on an appointment by and between
the Board of Supervisors of Du-
buque County, Iowa and the City
Council of the City of Dubuque,
Iowa but rather was due to the
press of business by both bodies
that prevented their respective
bodies from meeting in joint ses-
sion to make such an appointment.
