Koch, Public Works Director Plats of Survey for Lot 3 of Riverwalk 3rd Addition INTRODUCTION The enclosed resolution provides for the approval of the attached survey plat, that delineates the project boundary for the Mississippi Education and Conference Center. DISCUSSION To complete the Vision Iowa Grant Agreement, a legal description for the parcel of land to be developed for the Mississippi Education and Conference Center was prepared. The City Council recently approved the vacation of Wall Street, Tower Street, East 6th Street and adjacent alleys, all within the vicinity of the former Plastic Center, Inc. This vacating allowed the remaining lots east of Bell Street to be consolidated into one single lot and renamed Riverwalk 3rd Addition. The Riverwalk 3rd Addition was then subdivided into three lots. Lot 1 of Riverwalk 3rd Addition is the lease parcel for the hotel and water park; and Lot 2 of Riverwalk 3rd Addition is the lease parcel for the Parking Use Agreement, Lot 3 of Riverwalk 3rd Addition will be the new legal description for the parcel of land to be developed for the Mississippi Education and Conference Center. The Dubuque County Recorder requires an "Owner's Consent" certificate to be attached to all plats recorded in Dubuque County. RECOMMENDATION I would recommend that the attached plat be approved and that the Mayor be authorized and directed to sign the plats on behalf of the City. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA: Section 1. That the plat dated July 3, 2001, prepared by IIW Engineers & Surveyors, P.C., relative to the real estate hereinabove described be and the same is hereby approved, and the Mayor and City Clerk be and they are hereby authorized and directed to execute said plat and on behalf of the City of Dubuque, Iowa. Section 2. That the City Clerk be and is hereby authorized and directed to file said plat and certified copy of this resolution in the Office of the Recorder, in and for Dubuque County, Iowa.
