Jayne Banfield 8/20/01 8/2/01 Vehicle Damage This is a claim in which the claimant states that a City squad car hit their vehicle, causing damage to it. According to the report of Police Chief Klm Wadding, the officer driving the squad car was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. It is Chief Wadding's recommendation to pay the claim as fHed. The Legal Department concurs with this recommendation. It is therefore the recommendation of the Legal Department that this claim, in the amount of $102.35, be paid by the Finance Department and submitted to ICAP for reimbursement. Wadding Police Chief Claim against the City of Dubuque by Service Master by Banfield Seven Hills Regarding your letter of August 21, 2001 concerning a claim filed against the City of Dubuque by Jayne Banfield, I recommend payment of $102.35 to the claimant. The investigation shows that Officer Abitz, the driver of the City of Dubuque squad car, entered the intersection against the red light and became the primary cause of the accident.
