Vehicle Damage
This is a claim in which the claimant states that while City employees were filling in cracks
on Alta Vista Street, they caused damage to his vehicle.
According to the report of John Klostermann, Street/Sewer Maintenance Supervisor, there
is no record of this incident. However, due to the nature of the work being done on Alta
Vista Street, it is possible that a piece of debris could have hit the claimant's vehicle
without the knowledge of the City employees. It is his recommendation to pay the claim as
filed. The Legal Department concurs with this recommendation.
It is therefore the recommendation of the Legal Department that this claim, in the amount
of $232:94, be paid by the Finance Department and submitted to ICAP for reimbursement.

Dear Barry:
This letter will respond to the claim filed by Mr. John Sullivan.
According to the claim filed by Mr. Sullivan, his car received damage when city crews
were cracksealing Alta Vista Street. Although we do not have a crew report concerning
this incident, due to the nature of the work it is possible that flying debris could have hit
the car without the knowledge of the crew.
It is my recommendation to pay the claim as filed.
If you need any additional information concerning this claim, please contact me.
Sincerely,
n Klostermann
Street/Sewer Maintenance Supervisor
