Property Damage
This is a claim in which the claimant states that water backed up into his basement when a
sewer line was blocked.
According to the report of John Klostermann, Street/Sewer Maintenance Supervisor, his
records indicate that the Operations and Maintenance Department was notified of a
possible problem with the line on July 22, 2001. The line was found to have been clogged
by grease and was subsequently cleaned. Mr. Klostermann states that there has not been
a history of problems with this line.
Therefore, it is his recommendation that the claim be denied based on lack of prior
knowledge. The Legal Department concurs with this recommendation.
