Stonehill Adult Ctr DayWHEREAS, Stonehill Franciscan Services has continuously provided adult day cars
programs for the elderly of our community at the Stonehill Adult Center
since May, 1990; and
WHEREAS,
this valuable community resource provides care, promotes excellence,
and preserves independence for the elderly, thereby making it possible
for many to rsmain in their own homes and avoid premature placement
in a long term residential or licensed nursing facility; and
WHEREAS, Stonehill has extensively rsnovated and expanded its adult day care
program to meet the demands for service, aided by substantial grants
funded by the Dubuque Racing Association and the State of Iowa; and
WHEREAS,
Stonehill will celebrate a rededication of its adult day care program on
Saturday, September 22, 2001, including an open house for the public
between the hours of 1:30 and 3:00 p.m.
NOW THEREFORE, I, TERRANCE M. DUGGAN, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE
DO HEREBY PROCLAIM SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2001 AS:
"STONEHILL ADULT CENTER DAY"
IN DUBUQUE, IOWA, AND URGE CITIZENS TO SUPPORT THIS VALUABLE
COMMUNITY RESOURCE FOR OUR SENIOR CITIZENS AND PARTICIPATE IN THE
OPEN HOUSE OF THE RENOVATED AND EXPANDED FACILITIES AT 3475
WINDSOR ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 22, 2001.
