ESAC on Storm Water MgmtSeptember 5, 2001
Honorable Mayor Terry M. Duggan and
City Council Members
City Hall
50 W. 13th Street
Dubuque IA 52001
Dear Mr. Mayor and Council Members:
At its September 4, 2001 meeting, the Environmental Stewardship Advisory
Commission unanimously voted in favor of requesting the City Council permission to be
involved in the City's storm water management planning process. Storm water
management has a great impact on the environment and the Commission feels they
could lend expertise into the planning process and outcome of the storm water
management system in Dubuque. Staff and a member of the Commission recently
attended the American Rivers workshop on "River of Renewal: A Vision for
Reconnecting Communities to a Living Upper Mississippi River" and also realized the
impact of storm water management on, not only the river, but the communities on the
river.
Therefore, the Environmental Stewardship Advisory Commission respectfully requests
that they be involved in the discussions and planning for the City's storm water
management plan.
Commission members Bill Niemann or Leslee Spraggins will be able to answer any
questions you have regarding this request.
Environmental Stewardship Advisory Commission
