Plat of Survey of Woodward Place
The submitted plat of survey is part of the process to expand an off-street parking lot for
use by Woodward Communications, Inc. employees as well as for the use by Dubuque
Museum of Art. Planning Services Manager Laura Carstens is recommending approval
of the plat of survey of Woodward Place as it is in substantial compliance with the City
of Dubuque Subdivision Regulations.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

Plat of Survey of Woodward Place
DISCUSSION
The submitted plat of survey is part of the process to expand an off-street parking lot
for use by Woodward Communication, Inc. employees as well as for the use by
Dubuque Museum of Art. The property is located at the northeast corner of Bluff Street
and 7th Street.
The plat of survey consolidates seven (7) existing lots into Lot 1 of Woodward Place
(proposed parking lot) and dedicates Lot 2 of Woodward Place to the City of Dubuque
as additional right-of-way for Bluff Street. This dedication of land to the City for right-of-
way purposes is necessary to modify the curb along the east side of the 700 block of
Bluff Street to accommodate the installation of six additional parking meters.
RECOMMENDATION
I recommend approval of the attached resolution for the plat of survey of Woodward
Place as it is in substantial compliance with the City of Dubuque Subdivision
Regulations.

RESOLUTION NO. 429-01
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PLAT OF SURVEY OF WOODWARD PLACE IN
THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA.
Whereas, there has been filed with the City Clerk a plat of survey of Woodward Place
in the City of Dubuque; and
Whereas, upon said plat of survey appears a lot to be known as Lot 2 Woodward
Place, which the owners by said plat of survey have dedicated to the public forever; and
Whereas, Said plat of survey has been reviewed by the City Planner and had her
approval endorsed hereon; and
Whereas, said plat of survey has been examined by the City Council and they find that
it conforms to the statutes and ordinances relating hereto.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. That the dedication of Lot 2 Woodward Place as it appears on said final
plat, be and the same are hereby accepted; and,
Section 2. That the plat of survey of Woodward Place is hereby approved and the
Mayor and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to endorse the approval of the City
of Dubuque, Iowa, upon said survey plat.
