FTA Recognition
On August 7, 2001, the Region VII Federal Transit Administration presented Transit
Manager Mark Munson and KeyLine staff a Certificate of Appreciation in recognition for
innovative approaches to addressing public transportation services in Dubuque, Iowa,
and East Dubuque, Illinois. Regional Administrator Mokhtee Ahmad was on hand to
personally make the presentation.
As you are aware, the City of Dubuque has been actively working with Project Concern,
Region 8 RTA and various area agencies on designing a community transportation
system.
In addition, the City of Dubuque has been actively working with the Federal Transit
Administration, ECIA and the East Dubuque City Manager Mick Michel on combining
East Dubuque minibus service into the re-designed community transportation service
through a purchase of service agreement that is still in development.
The Federal Transit Administration would like to recognize the City of Dubuque for
these and other efforts to improve public transportation in Dubuque.
The Iowa DOT Office of Public Transit has asked us to send photographs of this
presentation to DOT so they can include the article in their next public transit newsletter.
