7. Narrative Description:
Architectural Style And Key Stylistic Elements:
Historical photographs indicate that this building is a two-story Neo-Classical design with raised
foundation. Its upper level is level with North Main Street so it reads like a single-story cottage. Tree
growth around the house mask its true scale and it was not possible to evaluate the entire structure.
The uppermost floor has been greatly altered, compromising the whole. The house has an attached
double garage, hip roof porch, pedimented frame lintels, large side wings, unusual window pediments,
bay built out under porch (original?)
Physical Description:
26x29 core with wing to front left, 24x12 left wing, 21x19 right wing, gable front cottage elaborated with
smaller south through cornice dormer, larger north dormer.
Alterations:
Aluminum siding, replacement porch, north dormer added, wrap around porch to south bay front built
in.
Building Permits:
1980-19x24 detached garage
1987-18x18 deck
1992-enlarge skylight
Outbuildings:
Attached garage, north end.
Landscaping Notes:
