Architectural Style And Key Stylistic Elements:
Frame gable front duplex, stone foundation, side hall plan (right, twin doors). Twin plan to 80-82
Clarke.
Physical Description:
44x24 core, offset porch 16x8, recessed offset double-decker Craftsman style front porch. Retains
original 9/1 windows.
Alterations:
Asbestos siding, windows replaced.
Building Permits:
1925 building permit for frame duplex, Mrs. O. Schwab (Feb. 2, 1925)
1991 –new outside steps

Shelf on steep hill, drive to west, retaining wall to east

Historical Notes:
Lean Duncan owns two lots when sewered June 2, 1905.
Given that the plans of 80-82 and this one are virtually identical as are their building dates, it is
probable that the Duncan family built both.
City Directory Notes:
Miss. Anna Smith was operating a private boarding house at 106 Seminary s of 1890 (an earlier
house).
1923 directory lists 94 Seminary as vacant. The 1927 directory first lists duplex, Eugene Powell (Farley
& Loetscher) in 90 and Mrs. Ottelie Schwab (widow of Herman Schwab) in 92.
Historical Image Notes:
1891 Sanborn Map shows a two-story square core with an offset rear wing as 104 Seminary.
1909 Sanborn shows the same as 90-106 Seminary, not this house.
1909/36 Sanborn shows this house as an elongated rectangle with offset right side front porch.
