At the November 21, 2011 meeting, the City Council approved the purchase of five
excess parcels at four different locations from the Dubuque County Treasurer. City
Engineer Gus Psihoyos is requesting City Council acceptance of quit claim deeds for
five (5) excess parcels that the Dubuque County Treasurer offered to the City of
Dubuque for purchase.
I concur with the recommendation and respectfully request Mayor and City Council
approval.

INTRODUCTION
Enclosed are the respective resolutions to accept quit claim deeds for five (5) excess
parcels that the Dubuque County Treasurer offered to the City of Dubuque for purchase.
BACKGROUND
At the November 21, 2011 meeting, the City Council approved the purchase of five
excess parcels at four different locations from the Dubuque County Treasurer. Each
parcel could be purchased at the nominal fee of $15. The five properties were:
1. Between Keystone and Keymeer west of Keyway Drive. (1021407025)
Reason: Existing North Fork Catfish Creek sanitary sewer and creek
maintenance.
2. East of West 11th Street at parking lot. (1024452 -001 & - 002)
Reason: Protection of City interests in abutting City parking lot.
3. West of Villa. (1025461008)
Reason: Possible route for future storm sewer project.
4. West of Cedar Cross Road, north of railroad tracks. (1027304001)
Reason: Existing sanitary sewer and abuts existing Cedar Cross Road right -of-
way.
There were no back taxes due on the parcels.
DISCUSSION
The above properties have been purchased by the City, and the quit claim deed for
each of the following parcels should be accepted by the City Council.

as shown on the Quit Claim Deed thereof; and
Whereas, the County of Dubuque has executed a conveyance of said property.

A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A CONVEYANCE OF PROPERTY: LOT D OF
BLOCK 12 OF KEY KNOLLS SUBDIVISION IN THE CITY OF DUBUQUE
Whereas, the City of Dubuque entered into an agreement with the County of
Dubuque, Iowa, pursuant to which the County of Dubuque agreed to convey Lot D of
Block 12 of Key Knolls Subdivision, in the City of Dubuque, Iowa, as shown on the Quit
Claim Deed thereof; and
Whereas, the County of Dubuque has executed a conveyance of said property.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF DUBUQUE, IOWA:
Section 1. The City Council of the City of Dubuque, Iowa, hereby approves
of, accepts and consents to the Quit Claim Deed from the County of Dubuque, copies of
which are attached hereto, as required by Iowa Code Section 569.7.
Section 2. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute and
acknowledge on behalf of the City of Dubuque any instruments in connection herewith.
