Duggan and Members of the City Council November 9, 2001 Claim Against the City by Gene Chapman Date of Claim Date of Loss 8/20/01 8/9/01 Nature of Claim Property Damage The claimant states that a City refuse collector threw his garbage can into a garbage truck. According to the report of Paul Schultz, Solid Waste Management Supervisor, he spoke with the crewmember who had collected the claimant's refuse that day. The employee indicated that he may have discarded the garbage can because it appeared to be worn out. Mr. Schultz recommends that this claim be approved for payment. The Legal Department concurs with this recommendation. The crewmember was a short mm seasonal that did not work regularly on refuse. The said he may have discarded a beat up metal can in this neighborhood, llae description of the claim damage appears possible.
