Claim Against the City by Gene Chapman
Date of Claim Date of Loss

Nature of Claim
Property Damage
The claimant states that a City refuse collector threw his garbage can into a garbage truck.
According to the report of Paul Schultz, Solid Waste Management Supervisor, he spoke
with the crewmember who had collected the claimant's refuse that day. The employee
indicated that he may have discarded the garbage can because it appeared to be worn
out. Mr. Schultz recommends that this claim be approved for payment. The Legal
Department concurs with this recommendation.

Claim is acceptable as fried_
I spoke with the erewmember collecting this customer. The crewmember was a
short mm seasonal that did not work regularly on refuse. The said he may have discarded
a beat up metal can in this neighborhood, llae description of the claim damage appears
possible. The estimate of the replacement cost for the damage is within range for some
refuse containers.
