for the fiscal year beginning April
1, 1946 and ending March 31, 1947
based upon the estimated income
and expenses of the various de-
partments of the City of Dubuque.
These departmental estimates
show the appropriations for each
department for the preceding year
(1945-1946) and also the increases
or decreases for the ensuing year
(1946.1947).
The budget has been filed with
the City Clerk and will be pub-
lished as required by law in or-
der that objections thereto may be
made before final action is taken
on this budget.

OFFICIAL NOTICE OF THE PROPOSED ANNUAL.
BUDGET PREPARED BY THE CITY MANAGER OF
THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA, FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR 1946.1947.
Notice is hereby given that the City Manager of
the City of Dubuque has prepared a budget on the
basis of estimates of the expenses of the various de-
partments of said City for the fiscal year beginning
April 1. 1946 and ending March 31, 1947. Such depart-
mental estimates show expenses of each department
for the preceding year, and the purpose for which the
comlOlidated tax levy, authorized by Section 6217 of the
Code of Iowa 1939. as amended, is to be used, and in
addition thereto, the purpose for which all other tax
levies are to be used, including the revenues from mis-
cellaneous sources. The levy of a consolidated tax has
heretofore been determined by said Council and incor.
porated in a resolution for ~uch purpose. The budget
will be considered for final adoption by the city Council
at a special meetinl{ to be held in the Council Chamber
at the City Hall on the 6th day of August, 1945, at 7 :30
o'clock P. M. Any interest.ed party objecting thereto or
rrotesting to the same, or to any Item thereof or any
omission therefrom, shall present his objections to said
Council on or before that date.

the Code of Iowa.

on their property located south
of the River Terminal be amended
to allow to dike around their
three oil tanks, the dike to cover
about two-thirds of the capacity of
their three storage tanks also
that the requirement for the foa-
mite installation be eliminated and
also that they be permitted to fill
the large tank with fuel oil while
the dike is being built. The re-
presentatives of the Capitol Oil
Corporation and the Hughes Oil
Company were advised that the
City Council would take their re-
quests under consideration and
that the next meeting of the City
Council would be held on August
6, 1945 at which meeting the re~
presentatives were invited to
tend, if they so desired, and
which meeting

sentative of the retailers, one
member to be a representative of
the jobbers, one member to be a
representative of the professional
men, one member to be a represen-
tative of labor, and one member
to be a representative of the pub-
