The existing ceiling can not be raised because of the plumbing, heating and electrical above the ceiling. The room would need a variance of 4". TOM SIWFT MOTIONED TO GRANT THE VARIANCE ON INTERIOR BEDROOMS WHICH LACK 100% OF THE NATURAL VENTILATION REQUIREMENTS AND LIMITED AMOUNTS OF NATURAL LIGHT DUE TO RENOVATION LAYOUTS WHICH WERE COMPLETED IN THE 1960'S. THESE INTERIOR BEDROOMS ~_RE LOCATED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BUILDING AND DO NOT HAVE ACCESS TO OUTSIDE WALLS. UNIT %8 WILL ADD AN ADDITIONAL WINDOW FROM THE BEDROOM TO THE INTERIOR HALL, MIRROWING WHAT HAS BEEN DONE IN THE OTHER UNITS. VARIANCE IS GRANTED ON ALL TWELVE UNITS INTERIOR BEDROOMS WHICH ALL LACK APPROXIMATELY 4.9 SQ. FT. OF NATURAL VENTILATION A~D APPROXIMATELY 4 SQ. FT. OF NATURAL LIGHT. VARIANCE GRANTED DUE TO PRACTICAL DIFFICULTIES ~ UNNECESSARY HARDSHIPS IN CARRYING OLrf THE STRICT LETTER OF THE CODE. BILL KINSELLA SECONDED. MOTION PASSED 5-0.
