Gentlemen:
During the past several months
many meetings have been held to
determine the best way to rebuild
the fronts of the buildings on Main
Street between 9th and 10th on the
east side of the street.
The architects have arrived at an
attractive design which will com-
pletely change the looks of this
area. The design presents an over~
hang over the walk of three feet.
The present ordinance allows a
canopy to extend four feet over
the walk providing it is ten feet
over the walk. This design is not
exactly a canopy and is also not an
integral part of the building and is
nine feet over the walk.
We believe that the design as
presented would be an attractive
addition in the downtown area,
and, therefore, recommend that the
City Council concur in our ap.
prova!.
