Style/Year: 2 '/2 Story, Front-Gable Dubuque Vernacular House built Post 1872/Pre-1891 . On the front
façade, a window is located in the gable end; three windows are located on the 2"d floor; and a left side
entry door and two windows are on the first floor. A hipped-roof,framed, open-porch with a double
handrail spans across the entire length of the structure.A 1 '/2 story, gabled-roof addition with a right
side, open porch is located on the rear.

Landscaping Notes:
The subject lot is 25 ft wide by 100 ft deep (2,500 sq ft in area). The lot is level. There is a public walk
across the front of the lot. A private sidewalks leads from the public walk to the front porch and rear
side porch.
8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
This property and the surrounding neighborhood were evaluated as part of an In-depth Architectural
and Historic Survey conducted by Jim Jacobsen of History Pays! in 2002. The property at that time
was not identified as National Register Eligible. Although 12 years have passed since the in-depth
survey, the property is still not National Register Eligible. The structure has asbestos siding, windows
have been replaced and the porches have been modified. The building is a common Dubuque
Vernacular framed single-family home that retains little architectural integrity.

Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps shows the structure addressed as 2452 in 1891. No City Directory Data
was found with this address. It is believed that the addressed change several times over the time period
from 1891 to 1900.
Historical Notes:
1925 (July 151) A. Flick owned the property when water service was installed.
1948 Docket 66-48 Board of Adjustment Denied petition to operate a grocery store. Board noted
applicant should petition City Council to rezone the property.
2000(August 251h) Courtney& Janet Vance deeded the property to Patricia Sefcik
2001 (December 12th)Patricia Sefcik provided a Change of Name Decree from Patricia Sefcik to
Patricia Chamberlain.
