Style/Year. Two-Story, Front-Gable House built in c. 1900. The front facade features a fan shaped vent
in the gable. A large slider window is centered on the second story with a hipped-roof, open-porch
spanning across the structure on the firstfloor. A one-story bay window is located on the right side of
the house.

Landscaping Notes:
The subject lot is 25 ft wide by 111 ft deep (2,775 sq ft in area). The lot is level. There is a public walk
across the front of the lot. A private sidewalk leads from the public walk to the front porch. An alley
accesses the rear of the property.
8. Narrative Statement of Significance:
This property and the surrounding neighborhood were evaluated as part of an In-depth Architectural
and Historic Survey conducted by Jim Jacobsen of History Pays! in 2002. The property at that time
was not identified as National Register Eligible. Although 11 years have passed since the in-depth
survey, the property is still not National Register Eligible. The structure has vinyl siding, windows have
been replaced/modifed, the front gable window has been sided over, soffit/fasica/casing have been
wrapped with aluminum and the front porch has been modified. The property retains little architectural
integrity.
Historical Notes: Susan Moore owned the property when the water service was replaced on October
11, 1984. According to the 1891 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map, a 1 '/ story house occupied the lot and
was addressed as 296 Division Street. The 1909 Sanborn Fire Insurance Map shows a two-story
frame building with a larger footprint and addressed at 544 (546) E. 21St Street. The City Directories
from this time note the street as being Lincoln Avenue. The property was readdressed to 516 Lincoln
Avenue in 1921.
