7. Narrative Description:
This is a "T" plan two-story side gable brick duplex residence (35 feet by 42 feet, 1,343 square
feet per floor) with twin recessed corner porches (4.6x16) at the rear of the plan. The foundation is of
stone and the plan contains 12 rooms (six bedrooms). A 20 feet by 30 feet frame garage is undated.
The house has a centered gable roof dormer on the facade that interrupts the eavesline. The
plain cast lintels and sills on this house match those on 2120 Kniest immediately south. The brick
veneer is a dark brown brick. A hip roof full-width front porch (35 feet wide by 7.6 feet deep) covers
the lower frontage and its square piers and sidewalls match the house in their brickwork. A stone
water table caps the raised foundation and a matching material caps the porch sidewalls. Fenestration
is symmetrical throughout. The facade fenestration has paired centered front entrances with transoms,
and flanking larger single windows. Upstairs two windows are paried in a window set with single
double-hung openings being centered to either side. The front dormer has twin shorter double hung
lights with matching lintels and sills. The sidewalls have in-wall chimneys and windows flank the
chimney on each level. Broader but shortened attic end lights also flank the chimneys. These have
been sealed with panels. Sidewall windows have semi-circular brick arches and the same sills.
The core house measures 35 feet by 42 feet but the corner porches recess into that rectangle
on each back corner (16 feet long by 4.6 feet wide) leaving a rear gable roof wing that is 26 feet wide.
