Narrative Description: Two story side gable brick (load-bearing) plan (31.6 feet by 30 feet, 1,323 square feet) and rear addition (27 feet wide by 14 feet in depth) with two rear porches (13 feet wide by nine feet deep). Each half contains six rooms (four bedrooms, three rooms per floor. There is a stone foundation. The rear wing is a single-story gable roof plan. There is a tall chimney at the back of this wing and twin shorter chimneys on each endwall peak. Sidewall fenestration is minimal. There is a gable roof dormer with an oculus light that interrupts the front eavesline. The façade is fully fenestrated with six upper-level windows, and two windows flanking each side of the centered paired entrances (with rectangular transoms). Cast window lintels combine rounded pediments with a slightly curved broader base. The south or rear wall of the rear wing has paired centered entrances. The west porch is enclosed while the east one remains open. The roof is covered with hexagonal shingles. This building was present by1889, is on the bird's eye view, and in the 1891 Sanborn Map (114-6 Rhomberg). By 1909 it was numbered 510-12 Rhomberg. Alleyway sheds, covering the entire rear of the property, are shown in 1891-1909, but are gone by 1934. W. Hos was here in 1899 (not here in 1890). He operated a billiard hall. Mary McCauley was at 504 as of 1921.
