It has been eleven years since the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium opened to the public. In that time we have served 2.1 million on-site visitors. As you know, a museum of national scope and significance such as ours must continually reinvest in its facilities and offerings so that we maintain our role as a world class institution. The Museum intends to submit its application on January 15, 2015 in order to secure funds mainly for vertical infrastructure improvements. The application requires an "official resolution of support approved by the governing boards of local government." We enjoy our long standing partnership with the City of Dubuque. Your resolution will support our efforts to continue to serve the needs of the people of Dubuque and of Iowa. Thank you for your consideration.
