Van Milligen, City Manager From: Tim Horsfield, Parking Division Manager Subject: Bid Award — Intermodal Camera Equipment We are at the point in the construction of the Dubuque Intermodal Transportation Center in which we have distributed request for proposals for the camera surveillance system. One of the requirements is that the submittals be reviewed and evaluated by a committee. The following people have served on the committee to evaluate the RFP submittals. Chandra Ravada ECIA (City of Dubuque FTA Liaison) Tony Breitbach Purchasing Coordinator Brian Warthen Neumann Monson Architects or Designee Jodi Johnson The Jule Chris Kohlmann Information Services (Or Designee) Dave Ness Traffic Engineer Tim Horsfield Parking Division Joe Pregler Information Services Tony Steffen Information Services This group reviewed all of the submittals, ranked and scored each submittal as identified in the RFQ and are offering a recommendation for their final selection of a vendor. The plans and specifications for this portion of the DITC project were all approved when the entire project was approved in 2014 with the initial bidding of the general contractor. We received bids from RACOM (Marshalltown, IA), The Baker Group (Des Moines, IA), Per Mar (Davenport, IA) and Global Security Services. RACOM scored significantly higher in all areas and was the low bidder in the amount of $154,524.47, which is within the projected budget for this portion of the project. Therefore, the committee is requesting your approval and subsequent approval by the City Council for the award of the camera surveillance system to RACOM. 1 If you have any questions, please feel free to call at your convenience. Cc: Maurice Jones, Economic Development Director 2 RESOLUTION NO. 184-15 AWARDING PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT CONTRACT FOR CAMERA EQUIPMENT AND INSTALLATION FOR THE DUBUQUE INTERMODAL TRANSPORTATION CENTER Whereas, proposals have been submitted by contractors for the Dubuque Intermodal Transportation Center Camera Equipment and Installation (the Project). Whereas, said proposals were opened and read on the 12 day of May, 2015 and it has been determined that RACOM of Dubuque, IA, with a bid in the amount of $154,524.47, is the lowest responsive, responsible bidder for the Project. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DUBUQUE, IOWA: That a Public Improvement Contract for the Project is hereby awarded to RACOM and the City Manager is hereby directed to execute a Public Improvement Contract on behalf of the City of Dubuque for the Project.
