CITY COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
SPECIAL SESSION
The Dubuque City Council met in special session at 5:00 p.m. on July 30, 2013 in

Conference Rm. B, City Hall, 50 W. 13 Street.
Present: Mayor Buol; Council Members Braig, Connors, Jones, Lynch, Resnick, Sut-
ton; City Manager Van Milligen, City Attorney Lindahl
Mayor Buol read the call and stated this is a special session of the City Council called
for the purpose of conducting a closed session pursuant to Code of Iowa Chapter
21.5(1)(i) Professional Evaluations
CLOSED SESSION
Motion by Jones to convene in closed session at 5:01 p.m.to conduct professional
evaluations pursuant to Code of Iowa Chapter 21.5(1)(i). Seconded by Resnick. Motion
carried 7-0.
Upon motion the City Council reconvened in open session at 6:10 p.m. stating that
the professional evaluations had been completed and that staff had been given proper
direction.
ACTION ITEMS
Establishing the Compensation for the City Clerk: Motion by Jones to receive and file
the document and adopt Resolution No. 237-13 Establishing the Compensation for the
City Clerk. Seconded by Connors. Motion carried 7-0.
RESOLUTION NO. 237-13
ESTABLISHING THE COMPENSATION FOR THE CITY CLERK
Whereas, the City Council appoints the City Clerk; and
Whereas, the City Council from time to time establishes the compensation for the
City Clerk.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
DUBUQUE, IOWA, THAT:
Section 1. The salary of the City Clerk is hereby established effective July 1, 2013 at
$93, 516.

Section 2. The salary of the City Clerk shall also be adjusted July 1 of each suc-
ceeding year, by the same percentage as for all other non-bargaining unit City employ-
ees.
Section 3. The City Clerk shall be entitled to longevity pay as for all other non- bar-
gaining unit City employees.
