Van Milligen, City Manager FROM: Gus Psihoyos, City Engineer ' �•� SUBJECT: Iowa 32 Hike-Bike Trail - Phase 4 & 5 DATE: July 22, 2015 INTRODUCTION The enclosed resolution is in reference to the public hearing on the Iowa 32 Hike-Bike Trail — Phase 4 & 5 Project. DISCUSSION The Iowa 32 Hike-Bike Trail — Phase 4 & 5 Project will include the construction of a 4,400 foot long 10 foot wide asphalt trail from Holliday Drive to Chavenelle Drive. The project will also include on street pavement markings and associated signage along Chavenelle Drive to direct bicyclists to the trail access near Bergfeld Pond. Additionally, a sidewalk and associated retaining wall will be constructed next to the east side of the bridge to allow access to the bridge at this location. This will allow the Bergfeld Bridge to be accessed from both ends. RECOMMENDATION I recommend that the City Council approve construction plans and specifications for the Iowa 32 Hike-Bike Trail — Phase 4 & 5 Project.
